Mary
Hi, my name is Mary. I am the owner and founder of Little Ducklings Childcare and Preschool. I have been a licensed foster parent in Kitsap County for 4 years and I have always had a passion for helping children. I couldn’t think of any better way to help children then give them a safe and loving home during a very traumatic time in their life. I have had the honor to be “mom” to many children of all ages. About 2 years ago, I quickly realized the need for childcare was in HIGH demand, never mind a safe place that took state pay to support our foster children and families. I decided to attend an orientation for childcare and it hooked me. I dove right in and started planning to open a preschool on my farm. What better combination then kids and animals?? The school quickly took off and I was in heaven seeing all the children get to experience the farm life. After opening the preschool, I was reminded daily that our community has a dire need for childcare, so I started planning my second location to offer all day daycare. I spent hours, days, weeks and months researching, learning, and putting together the perfect vision in my head. I was lucky enough to put it all together and open my second location in Poulsbo. I have two beautiful children who keep me on my toes every day. I love riding horses, spending time with family (my mom is my best friend and I cannot go one day without seeing her), and being a helpful hand to families and their children. I am outgoing and love to tell stories to make people laugh. I take pride in creating a family environment and caring for children as if they are my own.
Jill
Hi my name is Jill and I live in Seabeck with my husband Joey and 3 kids. My husband and I moved here 16 years ago from California. I have been teaching and working with children since I was very young. I graduated with a BA in Child Development and have since worked in many fields with children including special needs and the local school district. I loved having a home daycare and preschool while my children were young and am grateful for the relationships we still have with those families. When I met Mary I jumped at the chance to teach preschool again in a home setting on a farm. It is truly a dream come true! What an amazing and unique opportunity to give young kids the experience of farm life and provide nature-based outdoor education.
